The term body acne is often used but most people do not what is body acne. Most people refer neck acne, shoulder acne, chest acne respectively as body acne. Overproduction of hormones like progesterone and testosterone may also stimulate sebaceous glands to produce excessive sebum. Bacterial infection cause inflammation of hair follicles. Therefore, there a various causes, but each cause ultimately affects sebaceous glands and stimulate them to produce excessive sebum. Excessive production of sebum clogs hair follicles. When hair follicles get clogged, and sebum is continuously being produced by sebaceous glands, it ruptures hair follicles and produces bumps on the skin. These bumps are called whiteheads that later forms pimples and pustules.
Treatment of Body Acne:
There are various options for treating body acne such as prescription medications, over the counter medications, home remedies etc. What method is the most suitable? It depends upon your body and its response to the drug or remedy. However, using herbal remedies is the best way as it is safest, effective and inexpensive. Choosing a treatment option further depends upon the causes and severity of the acne breakouts. For instance, acne in genital areas are very painful and often requires immediate prescription medications. For other regions like back acne, chest acne, neck acne etc. over the counter herbal remedies are recommended in general. Prevention of body acne is a set of rules. Wash regularly twice a day, avoid suntanning, tight and fitted clothing, harsh cosmetics and clothing detergents. Take balanced diet that contains vitamins, mineral along with proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Taking protein rich diet is necessary as it builds and repairs damaged tissues of your skin. Lack of proteins may cause scaring. When pimples or acne lesion is healed it repairs damaged tissues to fill the empty space. Therefore, protein rich diet will fill the empty spaces of lesion. Acne breakouts happens to be more traumatic when they leaves scars so be careful during this process.
